Arm injury and rehab
Although we don't immediately think about it, there are many ways to injure our arms - whether it be tennis elbow, housemaid's elbow, or typists' wrist, repetitive strain of any type regularly effects our arms. Our arms are also susceptible to falls, as we throw our hands out to catch ourselves.
Because on the surface these injuries can seem to heal quite well, we often forget about them after the initial pain recedes. This can be a mistake, as without suitable treatment these injuries can become a long-term liability. One problem with injuries here is that as the acute pain recedes, we quickly become more active - it's almost impossible not to, we use our hands for just about everything. But to ensure that we heal fully, we need to pay a little more attention.
There are a whole range of exercises designed to heal, strengthen and improve flexibility. Most gym users do a few curls for the biceps, a handful of extension of some kind for the triceps, then call it a day. But if you are aiming to rehab an injury or indeed prevent one in the first place, then there are many other options.
The best way to find out about them is to talk to either a trainer (for prevention), or a physiotherapist (for rehab). These trained, qualified professionals can design a programme for you that will have you fully functioning, injury free, and ready for any activity.
